On Thursday, March 4, Archpriest Artemy Vladimirov, accompanied by Hieromonk Alexander (Frizzell), visited the American capital, Washington, DC. The rector of St. John the Baptist Cathedral, Archpriest Victor Potapov, led a tour of Washington and some of its cathedrals for his guest, including:
St. John the Baptist Cathedral and the Chapel of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God (ROCOR)
St. Nicholas Cathedral (OCA)
St. Sophia Cathedral (GOA)
The Washington National Cathedral
That evening, Fr. Artemy led a spiritual discussion in the parish hall of St. John Cathedral. The following morning, rector Archpriest Victor Potapov celebrated the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts, co-served by Archpriest Artemy, Archpriest Oleg Oreshkin, Priest Gregoire Legoute (rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in Haiti), Hieromonk Alexander (Frizzell), and Protodeacon Leonid Mickle. After the Liturgy, Fr. Artemy led a second discussion with parishioners, on the theme, "Let my prayer arise." Fr. Artemy and Fr. Alexander then departed south, to the parish of All Saints of North America in the town of Middlebrook, VA.
