On Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th of October, a pilgrimage to Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY will be held. The spiritual retreat is being organized by the mutual efforts of the Eastern American Diocese, Holy Trinity Monastery and St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Washington, DC. The pilgrimage will mark the 15th anniversary of the martyric death in Athens of the "Chosen one of the Mother of God" Brother Joseph Muñoz-Cortes (+October 31, 1997), the 30th anniversary of the appearance of the wonder-working Montreal Iveron Icon of the Mother of God (November 24, 1982) and the 5th anniversary of the Hawaiian Myrrh-Streaming Icon of the Mother of God (October 6, 2007).

The pilgrimage will be headed by His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, and His Eminence, Archbishop Justinian, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA. The Hawaiian Icon will be present in the monastery during both days of the pilgrimage.

On Saturday, October 27, at 3:30 PM, a panihida will be served by Metropolitan Hilarion at the gravesite of the martyred Brother Joseph. At 6:00 PM a meal will be served in the monastery refectory, followed by a hierarchical vigil at 7:00 PM in the presence of the Hawaiian Icon.

On Sunday, October 28, at 9:30 AM, Metropolitan Hilarion will be greeted at monastery cathedral. After the vesting of the First Hierarch, a Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in the presence of the Hawaiian Icon. After Liturgy and lunch at 1:30 PM, in the great hall of the Holy Trinity Seminary, an exhibition of photos and personal effects of Brother Joseph will be displayed and a short seminar on his life and death will be held. At 3:30 PM, a second, farewell panihida will be served at Brother Joseph’s gravesite.
